  • Naeba-Tashiro-mitsumata-Kagura area is considerably wide slopes. Open views, the best. While the snow clad mountains and in front of suberemasu well. Tashiro Lake trails are very beautiful. Intermediate and advanced courses are likely. Another is that it'd better watch out, there are many points, such as passage of course, properly waxed boards with stopped and could be quite painful?. Not too crowded relatively wide is recommended, and it is.

  • Wide gentle slopes, suited guratori practice. Kicker and slalom, as well as non-compacted snow in abundance, where you can enjoy many. Some people (especially beginners) is less than good. In addition to the "main field" Kagura area, Tashiro, mitsumata area three area until the Naeba ski with one lift ticket, so totally doesn't become tiresome. There was no raise in the Highlands by ropeway from the parking lot but was on a hot day last week showing sunlight temperature 26 degrees wet snow, or by overall planing surface have come up so far. We recommend to leave out farther from the ropeway mitsumata area parking lot near the gondola station from below in order, but without a ropeway on the way back down the mountain course, dares to stand far side. (However the u-turn on a narrow mountain track would quite grueling for beginners)

  • 5th you can romance lift end out skiing outside. Gates and climbing notification and beacon is required to pass. On about 1 hour in the Kagura peaks higher than. When you get down to Tashiro in time for the final lift requires attention. Mid-February is the best season from mid-April spring skiing is fun.

  • Great ski area, much better than GALA (which is way too crowded). This is the first place I snow boarded, I bought the basic package at the snow board school. The instructors were very good, but they only speak Japanese. Even if you don't speak Japanese, they will still be able to help you. There is a bus that leaves from the train station. Most of the staff only speak Japanese, but are very nice, and will try to help you even if you cannot speak English.
  • A huge ski resort. You can access to two station: MITSUMATA and TASHIRO. In my opinion Tashiro is better than Mitsumata because it has more ski courses for beginners. But the restraunt in Mistsumata is better.
  • Great place to do one day ski. Easily reached from Tokyo by shikansen. I recommend getting the package from JR main stations in Tokyo.
  • Better snow, more variety in runs and better scenery than Naeba. Also less packed. PRO: - Lots of snow; still fun even in April when it's 17 Celsius outside - More variety than Naeba's straight runs - Great scenery overlooking the Tashiro Lake - Fewer people than Naeba CONS: - Short runs - Slow lifts - Terrain parks are located far from the action and Tashiro lift Although they are linked and right next to each other, Kagura can easily get 100 more cm of snow than Naeba. The combination lift ticket for both mountains isn't a bad idea but lifts will start to close at 2:30 - 3:00 PM to make sure everyone gets back to where they need to be (i.e. need to take Dragondola back to Naeba). My advice is enjoy Naeba for the (small) terrain park and Kagura for cruising.
  • I've snowboarded here many times and the service is always speedy and polite and the access is great. The courses are very long and wide so it never feels crowded even at the ski lifts. There're two types of buses that leave from Echigo Yuzawa: local and rapid so make sure you check the times.
