Yufudake, Yufu
(4.5/5 based on 220+ reviews on the web)
Yufudake rewards hikers with panoramic views from either of its dual peaks. A stratovolcano, the 1,583.3 m (5,195 ft) mountain has clearly marked trails to each of its peaks, with one rising 1 m (3.2 ft) higher than the other. Both peaks can be conquered in a single trip, but one is a little trickier to tackle, requiring some climbing using the provided chains. Be sure to pack plenty of snacks and water, wear sturdy hiking boots, and check in on the town's information center for a free mountain trail map. Don't forget your camera to capture the views from the summit. Make Yufudake part of your personalized Yufu itinerary using our Yufu holiday planner.

  • From yufu city looks massive and majestic mountain. The weather of the city takes a cloud halfway up the mountain and basin city is worse weather. Great views from the road towards the Beppu. More Hakone sengokuhara grand scale.

  • It is a very majestic mountain. Looking from the open-air bath, and very refreshing. In a persistently hot spring day was cloudy, but sunny, appeared at the Summit.

  • Look straight from the train station. Large clockwise walk to Lake kinrin, Torii Gates line is fun. It would be more nice autumn days. Borrowed free of charge at the yufuin station 360-degree cameras, Theta full photo imaging will have.
