Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse, Yokohama

3.8
Formerly an important staging and customs area for the city's busy port, Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse now contains restaurants, shops, galleries, and more within its sturdy walls. This pair of buildings stands out from much of the city's architecture, as the signature red bricks do not feature prominently in historic Japanese construction. Explore the shopping mall within, lined with hardwood flooring, to browse an array of quirky shops selling everything from handmade jewelry to warehouse-themed souvenirs. You can also find a few relatively big-name international brands here. Grab a bite to eat at the food court, which features a range of non-local cuisines and concepts, or head out to the waterfront to enjoy the view over the harbor. • The title, and the Yokohama Bay, one tourist spot is. Visit in the midst of the golden week, so many people. Restaurants, souvenir and sketch in the building. It is difficult for many people, the column is long, moved into the building. Study on building contains very neatly. It is recommended as a tourist spot.

  • It is one of the tourist attractions in Yokohama. I was surprised because it was the imagination more than a nice brick building called "warehouse" buildings and build a more simple so I was.

  • Situated in a lovely part of the city, the red facade and historic architecture is particularly pleasing. The red brick is vivid and robust with colour that is unmatched in the rest of Yokohama. I love the interior with the industrial doors, steel frames and the like. The exterior surroundings are also nice with the feeling of spaciousness and freedom which is a contrast to the crowded interior. It is also within walking distance to many other local attractions. I believe I also saw a bus service in the area. At the time we visited it was at the end of winter and there was an ice skating rink directly outside the building. The crowds grew larger as the day progressed as it was very popular among the children and young adults. The shops and restaurants inside provide a wide variety of choice and makes the visit interesting. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend visiting.
  • It's a converted warehouse that is now a giant retail space. If you love shopping and $$ is no object then this is the place for you. High end goods from clothing to jewelry offered inside. Outside offers great views of the bay and ocean.
  • Great place in winter and summer. Checkout the harbor the ships, go skating. Sit have a beer in the park. It was better when the old fishermen were there but they stopped that. Shopping is good, good food in the red brick buildings.
  • It’s a nice place to have visited and taken a few pictures, but it’s not really anything special. They have festivals there every so often like a Christmas market or bread festival. At these times stead clear of it completely. There are so many people that you can barely move around and it takes away any enjoyment you would have had otherwise.
  • Pricey but good atmosphere. Multiple restaurants inside. Busy most of the time but not too bad. Worth checking out after lunch time crowd hits, almost no one in the restaurants.
