Yamashita Park, Yokohama

(1,200+ reviews on the web)
Nature / Park
A peaceful public space, Yamashita Park faces Yokohama's waterfront. After the 1923 earthquake that left much of Yokohama in ruin, the city government recycled the rubble from the disaster to build this park, first opened in 1930. The space now contains a 1929 Japanese ocean liner converted into a ship museum, as well as assorted notable sculptures, including a Girl Scout statue marking the 50th anniversary of the popular youth organization. Bring a picnic and spread out on the park's grassy, landscaped lawns. Add Yamashita Park and other attractions to your Yokohama trip itinerary using our Yokohama itinerary builder.

  • It's beautiful especially when the flowers are in bloom. It is also beautiful during Fall too. This is a good place to go for a run on evenings (less crowded) although many still do during daytime. There is a Happy Lawson, water fountains, and vending machines.
  • Romantic, beautiful, quiet, and elegant
  • Just a normal park by the ocean bay. Nothing really spectacular. If you happen to be in Yokohama, can stop by for a short stroll and also visit Japan's largest Chinatown for dinner or lunch.
  • Great walk and in the end the view is realy beautiful... in the evening should be very romantic
  • It is nice because there is ocean next to it. Otherwise it not incredible or awesome. Just a normal park
