Rurikō-ji Temple, Yamaguchi

(4.8/5 based on 260+ reviews on the web)
A masterpiece of architecture and a symbol of Yamaguchi, Rurikō-ji Temple competes with most impressive traditional buildings in Japan. With the distinguished gentle slopes of its wide overhanging roof, it stands 31 m tall (102 ft) on a river bank at the foot of a hill amid lush greenery. Built in 1442, the pagoda overlooks a carp pond. Inside the temple, which was moved here in 1690, you can see models of the 50-plus five-storied pagodas found across Japan. The site, a five minute walk from Kencho-mae bus station and a five minute bus ride from Yamaguchi, makes a great place to take photos. • It is one of the few tourist destination Yuda hot spring. It is regrettable is looking so beautiful five-story pagoda, it rained a little bit painful. Since becoming a park around the flower season might be good.

  • The wooden tower seriously and religiously stood there next to the garden and temple for years. It was a great picture.  more »
  • Walk from the station takes about 20 minutes. Fragrant Hills Park in (during?) is also the bus may have only had time, 10 kg backpack walked shoulder. Along the way, pass, Museum of art, the Museum of the underground passage worked his way up to the last a little. Walk from there for a while, and that (other Horyu-ji Temple in Nara, and Go-Daigo-ji Temple in Kyoto) of Japan 3 Lords Tower pagoda Tower has come into view. It is just wonderful. And because of the lack of tourists for the time so could watch in good condition. That drew a sweat so the weather was nice, really nice architecture understood layman.
