Yamagata Zao Onsen Ski Resort, Yamagata

(4.4/5 based on 220+ reviews on the web)
At the higher altitudes of Yamagata Zao Onsen Ski Resort, Siberian winds cake trees in ice and snow to create "snow monsters," a rare sight that gives the destination an otherworldly aspect. With a 305 hectare (754 acre) area predominantly made up of beginner and intermediate runs, the resort makes a good place for those newer to the sport to hone their skills in a dramatic and picturesque location. If you're looking to take lessons, be aware that English tutelage is only offered privately. After carving it up on the slopes, head to the resort's hot spring facilities to give your muscles a well-deserved soak. In winter, a trip to the top of the mountain reveals the striking image of the illuminated snow monsters. Our Yamagata itinerary builder makes visiting Yamagata Zao Onsen Ski Resort and other Yamagata attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

  • That year, went to back at Bandai in Fukushima feet this time extend tried Yamagata. There compared to the ski area is very large, to the ropeway and lift, so you can have quite a high level. Near there is rime of the Summit is very clean, and fortunately sunny, very able to skate. Prior to set point of contact means such as may ended up at the wrong course but very large ski area, so different from starting point, get held up with a good idea. It was a ski resort lift ticket and rental prices in market Street, very satisfying.

  • Great advantages and scale-is firmly and sightseeing soft rime near the Summit, etc. are also available-(spicy, snowboarding) or bad contact for lift ticket prices detailed settings (time ticket) cons lift, seems not been improved as there are drawbacks common to parking are half sized can see piles and signs are less errors in course selection case history of ski. Certainly the popular hot springs should be this good?

  • From Yamagata station located 40 minutes away by bus. Enjoy ski at ZAO volcano and there were a lot of people come to see the rime. From bus stop 15 minutes and how much I walked.
