  • The Yamagata Museum of art until I visited. Very pleasant in the spring season, we take a walk. In central Tokyo, a vast park there so envious.

  • It was a condition very well maintained park. Is a prefectural martial arts Pavilion, gymnasium, Museum, Museum is very spacious. Particularly notable building is the local Museum, Yamagata-shi, is provided nationally to celebrate I took some pictures. Perhaps no hands were time main character gate leading bridge is restored and is open to visitors, has made Japan dandelion-like flowers bloom.

  • We arrived quite late at Yamagata, but fortunately this park was illuminated during sakura season and location is within walking distance from Yamagata Station. It was our first sakura experience, sin...  more »

  • I came here for the sakura photo shooting and I think this place is great for it. A lot of sakura trees are surrounding you. You can easy shoot nice photo in a sunny day. And a night, they arranged for night sakura as well. They put heavy lighting equipments around and you can take photo there easily.
  • This place is so special. Not sure if it's worth it as a tourist destination. This park is a part of a lot of people's commute and walking here around sunset is an enjoyable way to experience a slice of local life. During the day there is a woman who practices flute by the castle. If you are there at the right season, you can observe some outrageous crow roosting behavior. During the summer they have "Radio Taiso" at 6:30AM throughout the park. I hear the cherry blossoms are stunning in the Spring! Oh, almost forgot to mention the beautifully creepy medical museum.
  • Every nearby museums and stores were close during new year (of course), but this castle gate still opened to let people walk through inside park with man-on-the-horse statue. Even there was no any other beautiful castle of building (except the old nearby tower-like museum, but it was close also), the view of completely white snow field with many dry big sakura tree was so serene and relax for me, especially the old black white stray cat of the park who liked to sunbath and dressing itself on the park bench, and very friendly to people. She let me played with her all the time, even I left, she still followed (and when other people came, she followed and requested them to cuddle too) So cute!
  • This place welcome me with a full bloom of sakura. So during this time it is the best to come. There are several museum s inside and nearby. Some are free. But the city itself has nothing much to offer but combine it with Yamadera or Kaminoyama Onsen will be worth the trip. Just my share of information. But without Sakura I will probably give it 3,5 stas.
  • Might not be Japan's best plaace for watching the cherry blossom, but it's definitely a good spot and this year it saved us since anywhere else it was already over or not blooming yet.
