  • And at the end of the central entrance. Volunteers hope you and guide free of charge. How is only take about an hour and a half to free of charge I'm sorry. During the renovation in clean, great has been restored. Is initially entered the Conference Hall in the Palace of the West think about decorated, great. Or the Office of the Governor the Tairo various description senior bureaucrat's room, a conference room information, we will, but it is slipped during more than an hour. I think that is also free, if you have time please go.

  • Snow-covered building was very attractive. It was especially courtyard atmosphere. Furnishings and elaborate plaster ceilings and walls is very beautiful. Furnishings and buildings just in there more than enough. At a coffee shop around can eat Curry meals.

  • It felt like.... I was visiting a Japanese wizadry school campus or something... Amazing architecture!
  • Former Prefectural Office and Assembly Building is a national Cultural asset. Some of the spots within this building were even used to film the live action movie series [Rurouni Kenshin].
  • Visitors passing though Yamagata Station should make a stop here! -Extremely beautiful example of Japanese-Western architecture that is not only huge and impressive but also lovingly preserved using the original techniques. This alone is worth the trip. -Very easy to understand and very informative exhibits abut the history of Yamagata city. -Expands to showcase in detail the different regions of Yamagata. Very comprehensive. -Lot's of great stuff I didn't find in museums in Tokyo. These exhibits painted a very colourful picture of the culture of Yamagata through different times. For example, the wartime exhibits were particularly eye-opening; some propaganda materials, government wartime decrees, impact on daily life, etc. were extremely informative and I don't think I would've found out about them otherwise. Oh yeah, and all the exhibits are free. Personally, I think they don't give this place the promotion and marketing it deserves...which is a huge pity and a bit saddening considering all the effort that has clearly gone into this place. Time taken: approx 2 hours
  • A nice building with a free museum. A food place to spend a few hours. Everything is in Japanese
  • A good museum to understand Yamagata. It was the building for congress. You can take a rest, take photos, drink cold water here.
