The Tale of Genji Museum is in Uji, Kyoto, Japan. It displays the world of the Japanese classic novel The Tale of Genji with projected images, models, and exhibitions. The culture of the Imperial Court of the Heian Period, the aristocrats' costumes and the furnishings of their residences are shown here. The last ten chapters of The Tale of Genji are set in Uji; the hero is Kaoru Genji (a son of Hikaru Genji). • If you don't speak Japanese, there's no point if you don't rent the free audio guide. But then again, the audio guide won't make much sense if you didn't brush up on the story of the Tale of Genji (Uj...  more »

  • If you don't really like the book and know the history, don't go.
  • Close on Monday
  • It is a Museum of Uji city which opened in 1998. Uji is the last stage of the tale of Genji, was actually in the Villa area of the Heian nobility. And many exhibitions, but variety is ingenious and is recommended. Mr. source of light was staying current shosei-en Garden (enclave of Higashi honganji Temple) and was realized paradise? (Actually source Kawahara Academy) in models of the rokujo, full length (this is easy to understand),? The ox (large), and other exhibits during the Heian period costumes and furnishings. You can also see the movie. When I visited there were joint exhibitions and Uji City Museum of history. I think so interesting special exhibitions are also named after Kyoto, just like come on a regular basis. In the Museum collection, such as a valuable manuscript of the tale of Genji and storage made.

  • I think I will ask and ask well, but the city's handicapped people is free of charge, but that discrimination is not or. Why the same disability yet? Clear is discrimination!

  • Exhibits are few. Ox per exhibition is gorgeous but it's just. Or seen a movie wasn't interesting to me. Good if you go once, again?.
