This is a huge museum one could spend an entire day in. We did not have that much time so we had to focus on selected areas such as Nature of Japan and fossils found there. The exhibition is... more »

It was pretty good but not great. I did still enjoy it. It did have lots of good dioramas and interesting stuffed animals. Although I'm pretty good with Japanese I noticed that there is not much English. This is a Japanese museum so fair enough but if you are traveling there and can't read Japanese this won't help you.

Truly one of the best museums I've been to. I really enjoyed the way the exhibits were displayed and thoughtfully explained. I truly appreciated this museum as one of the highlights of my time in Japan. There is so much to do here, as there are 6 floors to explore. I recommend getting here early, or coming on a Friday or Saturday when they are open until 8, rather than 5, if you plan to get it all done in one go.

Beautiful place with amazing exhibits. There are lots of dinosaur fossils in the basement. It's a huge place spread over two buildings with vast exhibits. The museum mainly focuses on the natural history. The museum is divided into Global gallery and Japan gallery. The Japan gallery provides anthropological, geological, geographical and scientific look at the natural history of the Japanese islands. The exhibits in the Global gallery portray the Earth's natural history, technological advances and the various animal species found on Earth. Most of the information panels are in English as well. A great place for kids to learn and enjoy.

Perfect to go with kids of all ages. So many things to do and see! With a huge library and play center with educational games on the top floor, your kids won't get bored and will learn stuff at the same time. For adults, the permanent exhibitions can be a bit disappointing. Other musemus in the area, will worth your time and money better.

Enormous museum for curios people with especially comprehensive range of basic physics and chemical demonstrations, and do not forget dinosaurs. Sitting T-Rex is unique :)
