Uedajo Castle, Ueda

(3.3/5 based on 400+ reviews on the web)
Head up to Uedajo Castle, a historic fort known for its impressively designed defenses.

Built in the second half of the 16th century as the home of the Sanada clan, the castle twice repelled attacks from the Tokugawa clan before the century was out. The second time around, only 2,500 warriors reportedly defended the stronghold against a force of 38,000. Admire the citadel's clever architectural design, with its deep moat and imposing stone base. While not much of the castle still stands, the site's history and surrounding scenery makes it well worth the visit. For travelers who use our online itinerary creator, Ueda holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Uedajo Castle and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • Sanada-Maru boom to Ueda. From the Tokyo close in about 1 hour and a half. From the train station to Ueda privelege. The Sanada family saw this landscape is no castle is the ruins of a castle, but I wonder if I've shimijimi. Fewer people in the past, but also drama series is fine with many people were crowded. Delicious noodle shop and staff.

  • Went to the Morro affected drama, but seems boring little children. But it was good to go! Want to go again!

  • I went to the last mentioned in the saga. Souvenir shops near the staff often relive Sanada world entirely.
