Tsushima Shrine, Tsushima

Tsushima Shrine is a Shinto shrine in Tsushima, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. Nationally famous, it heads the Tsushima shrine network, dedicated to the so-called Tsushima Cult. This Tōkai-centered network with its about-3,000-member shrines is the tenth-largest in the country. The main kami of this faith are, the god of pestilences, and Susanoo, two deities which have been conflated together. For this reason, like other shrines of the network it is also called Tsushima Gozutennō-sha. Shrine legend says that Gozutennō's aramitama (its violent side) stays at Izumo-taisha, whereas its nigemitama (calm aspect) came to Japan from the Korean peninsula after stopping in Tsushima Island, between Korea and Japan. This may explain the relationship between the two Tsushimas suggested by the common name. The shrine holds a festival called Tsushima Matsuri in the sixth month of the lunar calendar (July in the gregorian calendar) during which boats called danjiri are floated on the Tennō River, and reeds are released into the water. The shrine is built in the owari-zukuri style, of which few extant examples remain.

  • Is a Shinto shrine in Tsushima, Aichi, history. Also called Tenno, the Tenno's national headquarters. Would be about a 20-minute walk from Meitetsu Tsushima station, or if the car minutes from R155 Jiangxi town intersection. Free parking is available in front.

  • Lord susano-o life and then often enshrine sessha 4 spirit and eight children. Lineup of susano-o life. Speaking of Owari Atsuta shrine is famous, but here Tsushima shrine is far more venerable; The headquarters of Tsushima Tenno system over thousands across the country. De facto Owari Ichinomiya. Land was not widely from island or Nakajima was here originally because it was so widely is not. Not to ascribe to that venerable shrine name. Yet this neighborhood defense bases in this region and island susano-o life's sea of foreign forces was sea and wetland area. Land base in the West Bank many times here Tsushima shrine of Atsuta-jingu Shrine, central island in the land base of the shrine, on the East Bank. From never collectively, the three companies will both have Lord susano-o life of 3 bases of susano-o life time? Do you should it be called Owari Sanja? Shrine in this area in many styles and have a screen wall in front of the company behind the gate. Like the fence "hinpun" Okinawa. In the windy area developed. Or not connected.
