Kamo Aquarium, Tsuruoka

4.2
#1 of 17 in Zoos & Aquariums in Tohoku
Stocked by the daily catches made by intrepid staff, Kamo Aquarium boasts an enormously comprehensive collection of jellyfish. The aquarium's choice to diversify into displaying these otherworldly creatures saved it from hard times and has more than doubled its annual footfall--making it one of the most popular aquariums in the country. On the underground levels, observe over 35 species of the spectral jellyfish as they float illuminated in dark tanks. It's not all about the jellyfish though: you'll also see sharks, octopuses, and other marine creatures, as well as entertaining sea lions in their live show. Don't forget to pick up a jellyfish-related souvenir in the gift shop. See Kamo Aquarium and all Tsuruoka has to offer by arranging your trip with our Tsuruoka driving holiday planning app .

  • I'm staring at the jellyfish before, liked by people who seem different taste of jellyfish and adult well-being. Winter admission seems to be cheaper. Feeding the gulls.

  • Recommended for you to go on a trip to the northeast from the Niigata told company employees visited the Kamo Aquarium. Seen on TV before, but knew no cognitive in Yamagata, Japan map to expand it, from Niigata chocolate! and caught easily because there were people wear it boiled over, aimed at the Aquarium, run and run as--dark because it was going to take the Inn in the Tsuruoka, spread in the Path is not too easy to run Hashi was tired of running. With public authorities, access is too much doesn't like. Now, the entrance is on weekdays, morning in 1 I ask. Parking is also available and easily buy tickets quickly put. Was Halloween, so just a little Halloween decorations. Partly to corners of the freshwater fish and jellyfish main goes to the back, and important jellyfish is beautiful than you think, was never seen and enjoyed. But I wanted to try to hitodakari me of the head man just once and not worry about that, carefully see that jellyfish exhibit every single photos too calm, as I was really good. Hmm, I was free. I was lucky. After jellyfish exhibit and the sea there, ladies and gentlemen, description of jellyfish towards the Aquarium I heard in the intently was moved there. Sea lions are very smart and really am impressed. I really trained trainers who I thought. Was asking him to want to distribute my colleague I'm satisfied jellyfish Aquarium was a fantastic sight, but also slightly disappointing, purchased the souvenir candy, and I bought a small bag, give me more than one bag. Bus was asked whether or not the need to distribute souvenirs here, it is the smallest extra is the welcoming words of gratitude is the Clerk's reply "yes" was so taken aback. My service, but hey it doesn't. Apart from it if you have a young staff, and. I had such a thing of one staff member? Without any words and deeds in the entire image is worse and at cheaper prices overall, empty parking lot even before the jellyfish, sea lions and the satisfied visitors was. You want to come there again. To celebrate I bought official toy plastic cup. Because I uploaded the photos, look at me. It is cute.

  • It was a wonderful aquarium. Also it had a fun seal and sea lion show. The exhibits of jellyfish we're amazing! I never knew there were so many species of jellyfish. The shows and most information are in Japanese but it was still incredible. FYI my friend and I were coming from the airport nearby and the taxi ride to and from cost ¥4000 each time. There is a bus if you have more time but we needed to catch a flight.
  • The best jelly fish aquarium ever. You can even order ice cream with jelly fish flavor :) The shows are interesting and my kids liked it.
  • I highly recommend that you go first thing in the morning. It's also better to bring lunch with you. There aren't many places to eat nearby.
  • Just amazing facility!
