The Shonai clan school is located near other tourist facilities (Art Art Forum Gallery, the Museum Chohokan, the Museum of Fujisawa Shuhei etc.) so it is essential to go have a look. However most of the information are in Japanese, french and English information should be proposed by the end of the year. But the owner explained the history of the Chidokan in a very simple Japanese and easy access, if you tweak a little Japanese you should understand the outline! If you do not speak Japanese, wait for end of 2017 to have the papers detailed in English and french. The school was opened by Sakai Tadaari in 1805, in order to provide the teachings of Ogyu Sorai and Confucianism (in the Museum of the Chidokan you can see replicas of the paintings of Confucius, Confucian writings and statues). The school spreading the values of independent education and self-discipline. The subjects taught were mainly literary (Chinese literature, calligraphy, etc.) and the strict days. At age 16, students practiced sword. Students coming out of this school were highly literate and produced writings kanbun (Chinese writing) very advanced. We could out graduate between 25 and 35 years (it's say the patience needed to integrate this school!)

It is learned is located east of crane months Oka Castle in the Shonai clan from elementary school equivalent to schools. You can visit free anyone if you named lodge beside the front gate was once in the Shonai clan Onarimon. (1) it can be used around shrines (cabin put a statue of Confucius) (2) Auditorium (building where Lord non students) (3) exhibit 3 and Iruma (Lord for buildings), buildings and inside look at. Grounds, and tightly controlled curing of MOSS in particular (3) of IRIS garden is also neatly and standing, so beautiful. You can learn from exhibits Shonai clan tradition. You can directly read the old word phrases or sentences without notices in the future and learn directly from the teachings of Confucius, that focused on the students observe the talent comes fields of notice. I felt the atmosphere itself has grown, not copies of someone born ago passing. Will you go with the easy-to-take off your shoes would be better.

Is a vast crane months Oka castle ruins remains intact at great town and I think deeply. The other Tower and is only at best moats remain. I visited the clan chido Museum was left in his time, so without hesitation. As soon as I set foot on the old Shonai clan feel. It is reminiscent fusuma, tatami mats, hallway, or so it was. It was a time can learn anecdotes about the old Tsuruoka domain to the Southwest war support and sympathy for team Saigo Tsuruoka, I became very happy.
