A scenic valley known for its colorful maples and fawn lilies, Korankei offers a relaxing walk amid nature along te Tomoi River. A popular outing spot for locals, the has rows of around 4,000 maple trees, which, coupled with a photogenic vermillion bridge, turn this place into a spectacular sight in the fall. A well preserved village with thatched roof houses offers visitors traditional hospitality, with the area as a whole providing a great atmosphere for couples and family outinsg. Find the temple of the 17th-century Buddhist monk who planted the first maple trees in the valley, which takes some two hours to reach from Nagoya.   • From Jinriki-sha to automobile, you can have a look at all sorts of wheeled vieacle. Though it is bit far from the centre of the sity, worth going there.  more »

  • An amazing place in Japan to see the autumn colours! Does take a while to get to, but well worth it. Climbing Mt Iimori can be a minor challenge, but overall a safe path.
