Street of Kinosaki Onsen, Toyooka

Historic Walking Area Lookout
Take a leisurely stroll down Street of Kinosaki Onsen, the center of the traditional resort area. Famous for its "onsen" (Japanese hot spring spas), pop into one of the seven traditional spas to sample a range of different treatments and relax in the naturally warm water. Watch locals walk around in their "yukuta" (a casual, summertime kimono) between the onsen and "ryokans" (traditional Japanese inns) in a pleasant scene of traditional town life. For a special treat, buy a bag of eggs by the main fountain, and have them boiled in the hot water while you wait. Plan to see Street of Kinosaki Onsen and other attractions that appeal to you using our Toyooka holiday planner.

Toyooka boasts a huge variety of ryokans, or traditional Japanese bed and breakfasts--most cluster in the Kinosaki district, famous for its many hot spring resorts, while hotels usually lie a bit farther away from town. Staying at a traditional ryokan, you will most likely be able to enjoy a home-cooked breakfast and dinner, while some establishments offer a room without meals at a reduced price.
