A National Important Cultural Property, Toyokawa Inari represents both an important religious center and an amazing example of the country’s architecture. Founded in the mid-15th century, this temple welcomes you with large stone lanterns as you enter. Take a tour around the site and see the numerous columns in the hall, beautifully decorated with carved metal details. You’ll see ornaments shaped like fish, turtles, and, of course, traditional drgons. What’s specific about this place are the thousands of carved and drawn foxes, representing the avatar of the goddess to whom the temple is dedicated.
