Zōshigaya Kishimojin-do, Toshima
(4.1/5 based on 120+ reviews on the web)
Tucked away in a quiet, residential part of the city, you'll find the ancient shrine of Zōshigaya Kishimojin-do. The present complex was constructed in 1664 around the shrine, where worshippers pray to the goddess Kishimojin, a deity from India who protected the birth of babies and the nurturing of children. Look out for the large, picturesque gingko trees, planted as a natural monument on the site by the city's metropolitan government. • Will be held on a regular basis in "Kishibojin" works "hand made city" in visit. At first glance, the term "Kishibojin" works as a "demon" character is turned and feels horrible. It can be said that God a long time ago, eats children, that God is and reformed to the Buddha, became the God of safe delivery and child rearing.

  • Hariti. About 10 minutes walk from JR mejiro station? It is a precinct in Tokyo yet surrounded by silence. I used prior to this famous ramen shops (and plum), this area is there were a lot of students, but not now.

  • Nice Buddhist temple in Ikebukuro. I particularly enjoy the festivals here...
  • deviate little bit away from Ikebukuro station and you will see small residential area. Then this will greet you; calm and quiet temple
  • Very unique temple that seems dedicated to some owl-god :) I was impressed with a huge ancient tree surrounded by a path of tori.
  • Endless Kishibojin hospital had to throw this away now. It's the hospital I was born. Since I heard it moved soon afterwards, but later watched the hariti was born here is one of my roots. Her mother died and have not been recently!. You want to go when things calm down a little bit again!.
