  • Konica Minolta Planetarium out of the sandwich Ikebukuro will often take advantage from a young age. Different themes and work every time and fun will be healed in the starry sky.

  • We saw queues for the Aquarium and decided to try the Planetarium instead. The show we saw was a "Relaxation" one but still fabulous. Once seated with headphones you extend you chair right back to alm...  more »
  • Higashi-Ikebukuro station near sunshine city located on the Konica-Minolta Planetarium. Find tickets for weekends crowded hard in advance online reservations are really required. Admission is a little expensive, but the background music I suppose that much, as the seats are comfy, the value is in the spring.

  • dumbness in its purest form. 1 hour of nothing. 1700¥ thrown away
  • it was very fun. Let's use this planetarium as a place of healing, not academic.
  • The shows are pretty well made with good resolution, sound and aroma added for certain program. All programs are done in Japanese, but the experience itself may be worth a visit.
  • Recommend to check out the poster for rating. It will give you some hint. For non-Japanese speakers, audio guide can be borrowed. The major drawback is that you cannot test it until the show really start. If it's not working, there's nothing you can do. Unless you wanna stand up and disturb the whole group.
  • The planetarium was completely renovated in July 2011 and equipped with the latest computer graphics and high-quality audio systems. There are usually several shows on any given day, taking place in Planetarium A, Planetarium B and the very relaxed "Healing Planetarium." Shows are often sold out several hours in advance during busy periods. All programs are in Japanese.

Where to stay in Tokyo

Tokyo abounds with excellent places to stay, from luxury affairs to humble budget-friendly lodgings. Its glittering skyscrapers house numerous international four- and five-star hotels, both in the populous cultural hotspots of Shinjuku and in the business centers of Akasaka and Shinbashi. Meanwhile, hostels catering to the shoestring traveler lie scattered throughout the city. For a memorable, distinctly Japanese experience, seek out a ryokan, a traditional bed and breakfast with tatami floor mats and sliding screen doors.
