Angel Road, Tonosho-cho

(3.9/5 based on 220+ reviews on the web)
When tides go out, the pristine clean sand of Angel Road creates a narrow path to three small islands of Shodoshima. Twice a day, when the tides are low and the sandbar emerges, visitors come to enjoy mesmerizing vistas across the ocean and lush islands. See small crabs wiggling through the interesting sand formations, and write a wish on small wooden plaque (ema), which you can hang on a branch for fulfillment. Legend has it that couples who walk along the road hand in hand will have happiness together. Check tide times before going. • One day during low tide showed up there twice, ebb and flow of the tide when in the way of magic sand appear and disappear. You can center this time, so you can find the maximum ebb tide in each around 3 hours (approx. 6 hours) sand paths appear across the island. Location, very romantic time up at low tide to go and can't see the road because the road are about 6 hours so demands more than an hour than the maximum low tide time is recommended.

  • In time from the time of low tide caught just one ferries at Takamatsu port, so that you know went suddenly changed plans. Feeling over time, tide has narrowly went to the island. Good weather, good timing and was very lucky.

  • And wasn't able to path when you visited in the past, but this time finished firmly, walking through. Children running sand was willing, but father's wheelchair is kinda difficult. But, it was really great and very nice.

  • just a tombolo but the scenery changes every minute. simply serene to look at. couples will love their "locks" spot under the "wishing tree"...
  • One of the most amazing places you will ever visit! You can literally walk out to three seperate and distinct islands, though if you make it all the way out to the third island don't spend too much time like we did, we almost didn't get back without having to swim!!
  • Scenic location where the sand bar disappears às the tide rises. Make sure you come at low tide to take many photos and walk the beautiful area
