Angel Road, Tonosho-cho

3.8
#Must See
When tides go out, the pristine clean sand of Angel Road creates a narrow path to three small islands of Shodoshima. Twice a day, when the tides are low and the sandbar emerges, visitors come to enjoy mesmerizing vistas across the ocean and lush islands. See small crabs wiggling through the interesting sand formations, and write a wish on small wooden plaque (ema), which you can hang on a branch for fulfillment. Legend has it that couples who walk along the road hand in hand will have happiness together. Check tide times before going. • Visited the scenery from a sightseeing bus, were guests in hotels near Angel road, so. Road on the island because it was low tide and crisp and clean. A little away from the ferry terminal.

  • At low tide the day twice, but early in the morning is recommended. Is getting up early is difficult, many people watch sunrises and then slowly you can.

  • The length, in characters, to be held at the time of low tide, the show is one of the most famous landmarks in the Park. You can also take a bus to suit the time olive but we are safe in the car and go, and borrowing a cart regular riding a cart on the road moving fun so they can be featured on the. At any rate, when low tide can fit along the open Angel Island is also pretty. When the tide length closed, I'll do a little more thinking s/he will be equal to the length of the bursts come on please.

  • Nice and free landmark to visit! Don't skip even the tide is high
  • Check tide times before going. Lots of cool geology and during the lowest point, it connects all the way to another island (used as a YMCA camp). Completely free attraction that is worth going. The water looks great but upon closer inspection, wasn't all that clean nor suitable for swimming (lots of seaweed, etc.). Spent about 1 hr walking around. Backup parking lot behind the nearby Shimamura store.
  • Crossing the road is fun when sea water started to flood some part of it. Don't forget to visit the bell spot at the entrance rock. Best pictures can be taken there. Have fun.
  • Nice place for photos but better go there when the sand road is available for walking.
  • Nice views, sea, islands. Pleasant walk. Come when the tide is low.
