Seibu Dome, Tokorozawa
(3.6/5 based on 140+ reviews on the web)
Seibu Dome is stadium located in Tokorozawa, Saitama, Japan. It is the home field of the Saitama Seibu Lions professional baseball team. The stadium has a roof over the field and the stands, like other indoor ballparks. However, it lacks a wall behind the stands so that natural air comes into the field. This makes it possible for home runs to leave the stadium, something not possible in typical domed stadiums. The stadium was built in 1979 without the roof and named Seibu Lions Stadium as the new home field of the Lions that moved from Fukuoka to Tokorozawa that year. The installation of the roof took place in two phases: the first phase after the 1997 season, and the second phase after the 1998 seasons. At the beginning of the 1998 season, the stadium was renamed Seibu Dome although the domed roof had not completed yet.On March 1, 2005, the stadium was named Invoice Seibu Dome as Invoice Inc. bought the naming rights of the stadium for the next two seasons. Upon expiration of the previous contract, on January 1, 2007, the name was changed again to Goodwill Dome to reflect the sponsorship of Goodwill Group, Inc. The naming rights contract with Goodwill was intended to remain in effect for five years.Although Seibu Dome was still the official name of the stadium, the stadium and media used the sponsored name almost exclusively during this period. However, at the end of 2007, as both the stadium and minor team naming right of Goodwill were seized due to Goodwill's illegal business movements, the Dome's name was restored to Seibu Dome in 2008.

  • What are the must-haves of baseball? Each person I think I much beer and hot dogs. Thing that pops out from opposite ends of the bread sausage Ebisu, and hot dogs, beer, onions and pickles, chopped brimming with coloured or mustard and ketchup in moderation, be. Is of course in the hot, hot dogs will be sold at the stadium meets this need is very unique. However, outlets of the Seibu dome infield seats is the exception. Perfect hot dog Tokyo Dome and shrine is Seibu dome is a pleasant one. I'm looking forward to next spring.

  • It was open at that time is ad restrictions without a roof, very beautiful Stadium. Nice and big Leaguers to Japan and was acclaimed. I remember living in the neighborhood, I was very proud. But new Seibu Group introduced the same as other companies cost principle, was corrupting to the ballpark just advertisements everywhere. It is still no management skills of mediocre management, this will be a good example. It is now turn off the ads, I want back to the beautiful ballpark. It is once was. Companies should do.

  • It's a baseball park... But a nice one. Easy to get to, reasonably well organized. Good food. A bit pricey, but... It's a baseball park..
  • Baseball park yes, but the also host events here. International Rose Festival...? Been here once.
  • Lots of japanese stadium food vendors: kfc, bento, ramen, and more. At baseball games, the beer girls carry kegs in backpacks to refill your drinks while you sit.
  • the mixture of nature and stadium very relaxing atmosphere especially spring and early summer. only negative side is ite bad reputation of summer humidity and hot temperature .
