Lake Kussharo Sand Bath, Teshikaga-cho
(3.2/5 based on 120+ reviews on the web)
Treat your feet to the spectacular sensation of hot sands and volcanic heat under cold water, as you enjoy taking Lake Kussharo Sand Bath. Set on the shore of a caldera lake, the largest in Akan National Park, the black sand underneath the rippling shallows exudes heat, which you can experience by walking on a little wooden plank then digging your feet into the sand. Appreciate the feeling as you admire the surrounding mountain views, and don't forget to bring a small towel with you. With a circumference of 57 km (36 mi), the lake area also provides various other outdoor activities, such as fishing, kayaking, hiking, and cycling. You can also take a dip in a pool near the beach.
  • On the beach and dig a little warm water (? ) Wells up inside you. Where you can experience and have already dug and gone all the way there. Bus tour and many foreign tourists, pretty crowded. To sign to its left were average, and tourist groups that wanted to take pictures with a sign containing the name of a place is, or was, but found we were promptly and took it. "Sand bath" look clearly written just the right sign in new signs look good, "sunayu" is on the left (was the case? ) And written in dilute colors the picture on the right is very good I thought. I stopped by when Lake kussharo did not watch so much!

  • Foot has 2 locations in East and West. Souvenir shop, either. It is amazing that comes out just a little sand to dig in the hot springs.
