Uehara, Taketomicho Iriomote-jima

One of the three ports from which you can start exploring Iriomote island, Uehara is a small-town ferry terminal with a small supermarket, a few restaurants, and a petrol station renting scooters and cars. On windy days, the port may be closed, you can still take buses to other nearby ferry ports. You can snorkel and explore the beach north of the port, Hoshizuma no Hama, known for its coral and star-shaped sand. You can also find waterfalls just north of the port. Keep an eye out for information tables about the Iriomote cat, a subspecies of the leopard that lives only on this island. It is a port of nice weather, great sea views. You can buy souvenirs or (from the island is of course is). From the vending machines. Chair. Air conditioner was working. Also the port of departure of ocean activities. Not fishy.

I visited was beautiful as the Uehara port. But say it is not. Ishigaki Island high speed ship enters frequently. Around July, and 40 cm square box large ships carry. It's a pineapple factory. Ripe pineapple sold in supermarkets is if you go to the Iriomote Island, we'd like some. A small pineapple will be in at around 150 yen. It's this irresistible taste. Come taste. Uehara port seems like crowded Saturday evening Friday evening. This time of the day this is? And went to Ishigaki Island of Iriomote, 飲mi明kasu all night long without drinking I wondered much to Iriomote's. On Ishigaki Island, found at random bars are for outlying islands coming breather on Ishigaki Island over the weekend.

So often is the gateway to the sea in the western part of Iriomote Island, winter comes in rough sea on the high seas. Regular fast boats on Ishigaki Island, hatoma Island, private barasu island ferries and fishing boats crowded with summer. Transport terminal and in front of the pier is surrounded by blue sea, you can snack and souvenir purchases. I recommend winter elsewhere as well as Eastern Ohara port, this port is also used once.
