Hoshisuna Beach, Taketomicho Iriomote-jima
(3.4/5 based on 220+ reviews on the web)
Famous for its sands made of billions of tiny dead starfish, Hoshisuna Beach features a number of reefs and curious offshore rock formations covered with greener. Forming a half-closed bay with a micro climate, the beach offers good swimming and snorkeling opportunities. You can walk in the shallows and puddles during low tide, or rent snorkeling equipment at a facility right across the beach and wait for high tide. Huge differences in tide leave large pools filled with vivid marine life. You can dine in a nice restaurant nearby and the beach, some 10-15 minutes by car from Uehara, has toilet facilities. • Bike tourism in Iriomote Island, is found in the middle coast. Close to the car and bicycle parking is convenient. The sea is very beautiful.

  • I went to snorkel alone. Snorkel in the inside of the small island so no tidal flow with confidence. Was quite shallow at low tide some deep place there people getting used to? The small fish who went around me and underarms. It was a big fish also had a very nice star sand beach.

  • The coast a beautiful blue busy weather it was raining, sunny, but it is fine. Nimonimo I was snorkeling and assured a shoal. It is good for beginners-and of course, it's beautiful sandy beaches not so crowded, the staff!
