Nishi Pier, Taketomi-jima Taketomi-cho

4.2
#1 of 42 in Sightseeing in Yaeyama-gun
Pier / Boardwalk Tourist Spot
Take a walk out above the water on Nishi Pier for an impressive view of the shoreline and sea. The simple strip of concrete leading out from a remote beach blends in with the landscape, allowing the scenery to speak for itself. Walking out a few yards into the sea offers sights of different aquatic life at the edge of the pier, including sea cucumbers, shrimp, fish, crabs, and eels. With no facilities or businesses nearby, the pier remains a quiet place of relaxation and reflection in nature. • Taketomi island came to Buffalo drive and West Pier click here. Contrast and higher transparency, white sandy beach is really beautiful. Please come and visit. Cycling has bicycle parking lot in front of the pier.

  • Sunset from here is very beautiful, and had become concerned about. You could barely see the third kurushima. Sunset on the horizon, but unfortunately the clouds were out. At the tip of the pier, not empty if you want to go about 30 minutes ago and I can't go to the tip.

  • “Check out the critters” We stopped here to check out the view and about an hour later we were still there, before you know it all the little critters are getting your attention, the many different types of crabs, slugs and the beautiful vivid blue fish-the type you'd see in a fish tank are all worth seeing. The colour of the ocean is remarkable and the water is crystal clear. It's the type of place where you could lose yourself for an hour or so and forget about the stresses of day to day life, I loved it.
  • Nice view. Two thumbs up!
  • Beautiful view of the sea and surroundings here.
  • It offers a nice view of Kohama and Iriomote in the distance.
  • You can see many kinds of fish swimming in clear water of the beach, you can feel free and very happy in there.
