Tamamo Park, Takamatsu

3.6
Take a step back into the past and visit the remains of an early 17th-century castle as you take a peaceful stroll through Tamamo Park. As you walk through the former castle grounds, take in views of surrounding trees, old stone walls, and the nearby sea. Continue to walk around the park and you will come across a 100-year-old Hiunkaku house, which features a traditional Japanese interior complete with paper doors. The highlight of the park is the restored castle, with a history dating back to the Edo period. One of Japan’s only castles, it features a moat that connects to the ocean. • New year's 二日 tour from the morning. Old House and garden, etc. I think the place is good to those who love history or your garden. Close to station, very convenient. (* ^. ^*)

  • I got up early that day because the park was near the station and walked. It's going to take a lot of time, it's probably too early, so very few people, this is a Japanese park, the environment is very delicate, but in fact, nothing special.

  • Yuzao Park is next to Gaosong Harbor, which was built on the old site of Gaosong. Gaosong is a castle inhabited by ancient Gao Songfan, surrounded by a sea of seawater, with the protection of the city defense and Extinction fire disaster function, so Gaosong is also known as Japan's three water Shuicheng one, surrounded by cities, city walls of the care of the river, as the year into the sea, green, the withered landscape courtyard of the most suitable for stroll. Although every day the road, but did not go in.

  • I thought about skipping this because there is no keep, butit would have been a mistake. It's a lovely park with a truly beautiful art gallery (in an authentic samurai house). I would go there to relax after work every day of the week if I lived in Takamatsu.
  • A great 1-hour stop. The main structure of the castle was destroyed in the war, but you can still tour some building and ride a boat in the moat.
  • This is a rare castle that uses sea water in its moat. Visitors can feed the fish and most of the signs and plaques are in English. Once every year there is a swimming race in the moat of this castle and sometimes it is open at night time with various exhibits. Entry is cheap and the castle and its gardens are well maintained. Visitors can also go for guided rowboat rides in the moats surrounding the castle.
  • This castle is less magnificent than those in Osaka and Nagoya. But I felt quite relaxed and enjoyed here as this castle is less popular than others and less tourists come to visit it. You can even try to climb to the top floor of one of the towers here with the steep and old wooden steps. That is quite funny.
  • Not very attractive gardening! Must go up to the ruin of the castle to overlook the whole park. One can enjoy cherry blossom at southern part of the park.
