Amanoiwato Shrine, Takachiho-cho
(4.4/5 based on 220+ reviews on the web)
Dedicated to the sun goddess, Amanoiwato Shrine was built near the cave where she was believed to have hidden from her pursuers, creating a blackout in the world. Some 10 km (6 mi) from downtown Takachino, the shrine sits on the Iwato River. Believed to have originated in the ninth century, the shrine marks the starting point for a hike to the cave of the sun goddess, whose legend presumably came about thanks to a solar eclipse. After you perform a cleansing ritual, you may proceed to the cave. You can take a guided tour with one of the priests accompanying you, but you won't be allowed to take photos. • Navigate to the Takachiho bus by bus from Kumamoto airport, then by bus to Amano iwato shrine. You could not wait with connecting bus arrives at this shrine. Takachiho Gorge bus was 1 hour and 40 minutes, but will be done if a Tiananmen River... including the tourism the tourist only Amano iwato shrine 30 minutes, 10 minutes. Because time is 10 minutes, ask the Office and gave us the shrine area. By the way signs stating that information around the shrine. Can be seen for about 20 minutes or so, iwato of heaven and hear more stories from the priest, and so meaningful. Can be listed in the textbooks of history, such as obsidian and chrysanthemum stone, stone thrust, which in addition to a museum to see wait times had that passed. I no longer have time to go to the Higashi-honganji Temple...

  • In the heart of the Takachiho from about 20 minutes by car. Wi-Fi is also free parking. See the DW smells the lovely trees and walk through the Torii gate made of tree. Yoshiko also visited the shrine will feel the solemn and mysterious atmosphere. This is where will power to leave.

  • Quite good. Further thought while thinking about what one former high-ranking of the shrine was a village visited, but quaint shrine. After receiving a Shinto purification to worship to rain rocks across the river and into the guide is necessary. Impress even when affected by rain rocks and explained that probably isn't true. I thought I was good to go.

  • This is Amano iwato shrine Nishinomiya. The Crown Prince's close by. It is East of Nishinomiya. Nishinomiya whirlpool is from the Crown. The Crown Prince's few tourists. Ask in the Office and could we have object of cave near the priest. But many people who are waiting. Because the divine is recommended.
