Shinobazu Pond, Taito

3.7
#29 of 254 in Parks in Tokyo
Enjoy a boat ride and see more than 20 species of lotuses in Shinobazu Pond, a natural pond with a circumference of 2 km (1.4 mi). Having changed form several times through the ages, today the pond features three distinct areas, each with a specific feature. At Lotus Pond, snap pictures of the thick covering of peaceful plants covering the surface. Rent a rowboat or swan boat for a spin around Boat Pond. Cormorant Pond, which borders a zoo, is a habitat for many water birds, such as tufted ducks, pochards, and northern pintails. Take a walk over the bridge and visit the island with a temple that lies at the center of the lake. There are a lot of people from not just pond, located in Ueno. It is a shelter of elderly people in the city. If nothing else, the various monument there, it is much.

Can be found in Japan and stalls a little Merrymaking mood. I think a reasonable tourist spot. The Ueno Museum and Zoo on Monday holidays, so when you plan needs attention.

Lovely park and pond area. Very busy. Make sure to visit the bird man and have the sparrows eat from your hand. We took one of the swan boats for a half hour and peddled around the pond. There are a lot of other people but we never had an issue with running into anyone. Staff were friendly and easy going - they told us the time we needed to get back. Foreigners beware: The boats are small so getting in and out is difficult, and if you have long legs the boats may be cramped. It makes it more of an adventure.

Lots of scenic places for photos. Shrine nearby for prayer card purchase. Pedal or row boats for rent. Lilly filled pond also full of carp and turtles. Birds beg for food. Zoo nearby.

Very nice spot in Ueno. The swan boute cost $800 ¥ the 30 minutes and the regular ones 600¥ the hour. Is a fun thing to do and rest from the city

A amazing place in the heart of the city. It is so beautiful especially when you are surrounded by load of building and a dense city. You can finally breath. The view on the city is wide and beautiful.

Tokyo abounds with excellent places to stay, from luxury affairs to humble budget-friendly lodgings. Its glittering skyscrapers house numerous international four- and five-star hotels, both in the populous cultural hotspots of Shinjuku and in the business centers of Akasaka and Shinbashi.
