  • There isn't much more I can add to what others have said. It is a window into Tokyo's old wealthy past. I agree that the house and the gardens are the highlight. But once you see the explainer video a...  more »

  • Very good small museum of a sculptor. Even if you don't the artist, you should enjoy is work and the house is definitely worth the visit as well. Usually not so many visitors.
  • Two for the price of one. The artworks (traditional, "academic" sculpture) are displayed in the traditional japanese house customized by the artist. Both are very interesting! No shoes allowed.
  • Very impressive museum with friendly english speaking stuff and great explanations
  • Photos were prohibited during the time we visited so I didn't take any, but we loved this place. It's more than just beautiful sculptures on display, it's the entire home of the artist in a very traditional style. The grounds are beautiful and there's more to see than you can guess from just looking at the facade. The staff spoke English, and were extremely helpful and polite, going out of their way to give suggestions about things to see in the Yanesen area and other parts of Tokyo. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here, time well spent and for a great value in this often overpriced city.
  • It's incredible to see a big olive tree in the roof.
