  • A beautiful gallery and the artist’s original wooden house surviving from the 30s. The house, courtyard garden and library were the real gems although there was a special exhibit of the artist’s well known cat sculptures. Sadly, no photos are allowed anywhere inside so that was rather frustrating. The English speaking guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly! Minus one star for no photos.
  • Lovely, small sculpture museum. Former residence and studio of Asakura. Volunteers lead free English guided tours.
  • Two for the price of one. The artworks (traditional, "academic" sculpture) are displayed in the traditional japanese house customized by the artist. Both are very interesting! No shoes allowed.
  • Photos were prohibited during the time we visited so I didn't take any, but we loved this place. It's more than just beautiful sculptures on display, it's the entire home of the artist in a very traditional style. The grounds are beautiful and there's more to see than you can guess from just looking at the facade. The staff spoke English, and were extremely helpful and polite, going out of their way to give suggestions about things to see in the Yanesen area and other parts of Tokyo. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here, time well spent and for a great value in this often overpriced city.
  • Very impressive museum with friendly english speaking stuff and great explanations
