  • Lonely planet quite rightly lists this as top shopping place in tokyo - a massive call. But we were not disappointed- infant I made 2 trips and sent the rest of our delegation there! And everyone very...  more »
  • Shopping under the guard of okachimachi (? ) Is. It took care of the traditions of Japan, good sense and has a lot of modern shop. Coffee shops are there quite a long time and would never get bored.

  • An awesome artisanal shopping area. Located under a remodeled underpass, a lot of cool locally made stuff can be found here. The atmosphere is pretty quite which was a nice break from those you find in other shopping districts.
  • Aki-Oka Artisan - This is an artist village underneath a viaduct between Akihabara and Okachimachi Eki, hence its name Aki-Oka using the station names. 2k540 - This is used by railroad terminology expressing distance from Tokyo station, hence this Aki-Oka Artisan is 2km and 540m from Tokyo Station. This place was opened in Dec 2010 and now with over 50 shops and an event space. Interesting way finding markers can be found on the floor throughout the area. A place to buy things and also experience the making in workshops. Products are very good but mind you, prices are "artists" product prices. Interestingly, the viaduct soffit is painted white with reflected lighting provided a very calm environment and a haven from the busy sound of Tokyo streets. It's an experience you might enjoy! Remember it's closed on Wednesday!
  • really cute shops and good, unique designers. It's a bit pricey, but considered the work behind the products it's not really too expensive. Well worth a stroll if you're in the neighbourhood.
  • You will find so many art in this place. Beautiful handmade craft, shoes and everything. 😍
  • An excellent concept and awesome execution of bridge space, but there's only so many boutique pottery and woodwork stores one can visit. Some more diversity in shop type would make 2k540 more rounded.
