Nature / Park
Providing a memorable backdrop for a few snapshots of the city, The Tower of the Sun sits within a park created for the Expo '70, the first World's Fair ever held in Asia. The statue is around 65 m (213 ft) tall, with both of its arms 25 m (82 ft) long. The sun wears three faces in this sculpture--a golden mask on top, a black one on the back, and a red on the front. • Wonderful park, I come here as often as I can. Its huge and has so many different aspects you can keep coming and discover something new with every visit. You also have the treat of watching each new season unfold. They really work hard to display the flowers and plants of different times of the year. Easy to park and (relatively) easy to come by train. If you are in Kansai, its worth the trip.
  • You will surely love the illumination festival every December! This tower is perfectly viewed at night during this festival.
  • I'd come sit everyday during autumn. Except for the cherry blossom, nothing worth seeing during winter & spring time. I don't like the giant penguin with owl face (Tower of the Sun).
  • A weird tower that reminds me of the 20th century boys manga.
