  • Having been for the second time in Tokyo as a tourist, I managed to carve out of views other than those "classic" that I had already consumed in my first trip to this beautiful country. From fond of Japanese animation and its techniques I decided to go then on the outskirts of the city and visit this museum. We must say that the Museum is very small; occupies 3 floors but could easily snag one. There is a small history of Japanese animation, a cinema/video, some technical and design workshops, some autographs of some authors and little else. The visit is free, can be a treat for anyone who is really a maniac of the animation or for those who have much time to spend in Tokyo but donot non fans also because of the area easy to reach that takes away a long time. To tell the truth the prerequisites for a great Museum there are but there is still a long way to go. Good luck!

  • Suginami Animation Museum, located in the Hall. Japan animation dealing with the history and production methods, and so on. Animation works are being screened video room, period, I am relatively content, such as special planning Exhibition Hall changeable Al-tut. Even the admission free. I would really like to recommend here. Furthermore, it is also not a quiet private benefits.

  • Very informative and it's all for free! It's not quite big but more than sufficient. :)
  • I took a trip here because of my fondness for animation. I was kind of disappointed because it was very small scale. However, there is good English translation as well as a animation workshop where you can create your own things. Overall, this is a good place to take a kid, but for the average adult not so much.
  • The place is suitable for anime lovers. It is not crowded during the weekdays. This makes you to learn more in details from those who works in the museum
  • If you're a fan of Japanese animation and comics (manga), this is definitely a must-see if you ever go to Tokyo. The museum lends you a set of an interactive smart pen and headphones that works like a guided tour through the 2 floors of visual and interactive pieces in exhibition that tell the story of Japanese animation since old times until present days, shows the working desks of famous animators and teach through interaction how to make an animation, creatively mixing pencil, paper, cards, projection and other media. Really worth it!
  • Unexpected spot in the neighbourhood. Interesting static exhibits together with scheduled exhibiting animation. Maybe better for smaller children as a guided visit but for older children, there's a large library and multiple TV and DVD players setup for them to while away some time

Its glittering skyscrapers house numerous international four- and five-star hotels, both in the populous cultural hotspots of Shinjuku and in the business centers of Akasaka and Shinbashi.
