Tore Tore Market, Shirahama-cho
(3.7/5 based on 380+ reviews on the web)
Browse the many lively stalls at Tore Tore Market, a local institution, attraction, and commercial center. Though many locals come here to buy seafood in wholesale quantities, you can feel free to buy small portions just to taste, with many of the seafood items here edible when raw. Away from the main market stalls, find a seafood food court, serving a mixture of cooked meals and snacks, and sushi. Pick up a fish ball made using squid and scallop paste, deep fried and served on a stick. Add Tore Tore Market and other attractions to your Shirahama-cho trip itinerary using our Shirahama-cho vacation planner.

  • Great assortment anyway. Fish, vegetables, wine, candy, dried plums you... now souvenirs here! Never sell to adventure world... and also thought, was here. Was able to buy because there are a lot of tasting than eating the right things.

  • The location has ample parking and the inside is pretty big too. One of the biggest sensations are fresh seafood and seaweed based products. The coolest thing is that you can eat there in the same place, in addition to being able to acquire the products to take away. As this region is also known for the cultivation of Orange, you will find many sweets with this fruit.

  • Fresh seafood at great prices. The BBQ option is a great idea. Pretty much anything you purchase inside can be taken to the BBQ area. It's a great way to enjoy what the market has to offer. If you don't want to BBQ, there is a food court inside which serve up some great dishes too. Just next to the food court there is shop selling Sabazushi. The best I've had! The dried oranges and the Yuzu monaka are great souvenirs to take home from here. Wakayama is popular for its citrus fruits and plums. The plum rice seasoning is also a treat! This place is great for the whole family.
  • Fresh, reasonable pricing seafood in japan style, but of couse if u dont like it raw, u can hv it for bbq
  • We were driving to 白浜 beach and saw this along the way. We immediately stopped the car and parked. Among entering, we saw a BBQ area, and took note. Inside, various stalls were set up. There was a man expertly disassembling a tuna, piece by piece, and giving a little show while at it. Each piece he cut from the giant fish was wrapped and sold and excellent prices. There were shrimp the size of my face selling for 250円! We ended up grabbing a bunch of food from the market, then heading to the BBQ area to cook it and eat it. The BBQ area charged 300円 per person, but provided us with some utensils and garbage bags. We got in trouble for bringing drinks from the market into the BBQ area, but they let us finish our drinks anyway. If you want to drink in the BBQ area you must buy drinks inside the BBQ area (a little pricy). In the end, we had a huge seafood feast for under 2,000円 per person.
  • I loved the variety of fresh fish. There is a BBQ garden which you can enjoy without any pre-preparation.
  • Brilliant place for seafood of all kinds!
