Shinjuku Chuo Park, Shinjuku

3.3
#11 of 189 in Fun & Games in Tokyo
Surrounded by some of Tokyo's tallest buildings, Shinjuku Chuo Park offers opportunities for strolling, playing, and picnicking under cherry trees. This compact oasis of greenery and tranquility features many sculptures, a shrine, an artificial waterfall, and exercise areas, where you can play basketball, baseball, or soccer. Look for a set of 12 hanging bells that constitute a sculpture call the "Peace Carillion." Young families and office employees remain the most frequent visitors of the park. • It is a park surrounded by green in front of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government building in Shinjuku skyscrapers. This is a great Park. Square a waterfall come out well on TV because it is familiar. It is said, an urban oasis.

  • It is during the Shinjuku skyscrapers, right in front of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government building surrounded by a Green Park. It is resting on the bench, but not so much in the big Park, reading books, to stroll in the Park. Flea markets and a variety of events are held in the square that falls over the weekend. Starbucks is also nearby.

  • This is a pleasant little corner to recuperate it. The fresh air, leisurely pace the locals go about with hardly any tourists. It's great joy seeing some of the happy dogs walking in the park. This is a hidden gem especially for those who have just visited the Tokyo metropolitan government towers. This place offers views from the ground up that is unblocked with decorative greenery to add to the photos. It also offers great views to nearby skyscrapers. The only downside is that the landscaping is not comparable to the other Parks in the city. But it doesn't cost anything either to enter. Put this in you itinerary if you can spare the extra 30-45 minutes here before heading off elsewhere.
  • Fine place to relax before/after enjoying the Tokyo metropolitan government building. Toilet and water facilities available. Shrine nearby.
  • Good park lot of space for childrens to play. Huge water area during summer
  • I went there to do yoga. Relaxing atmosphere and very calm. Perfect for the day.
  • A peaceful green oasis in the middle of the towering cityscape of downtown Shinjuku. A good spot for a walk or a picnic or just to relax and read a book.
