Godzilla Head, Shinjuku
Categories: Landmarks, Tourist Spots
Peeking out of the eighth floor of a hotel terrace and looking down on a busy street some 40 m (130 ft) below, Godzilla Head makes a popular sight in Shinjuku. The giant 12 m (39 ft) tall reptillian head breaks out of the open terrace, with a roaring sound and tremor which you can experience on the ground floor if you come at the right time. Although only hotel or restaurant guests are allowed to see the attraction from up close, you can come in for a coffee to get a great view of the monster's head. Well-lit at night, the head gives off a laser beam show that can be seen from far away. You have to look pretty high up to see this glowing head at night. But ti's huge so you won't miss it. Best viewed approaching under the Kabukicho arch.

Get on the elevator to 8F and the Hotel Gracery lobby which is also where you can get onto the terrace. The terrace café is rather expensive, but a good place to have a drink and keep Godzilla company... read more »
Cool but nothing really special unless you're a huge godzilla fan.
