  • The shrine is just out of kagurazaka station. Where the main hall is dominated in the mansion, grounds and Mansion is strange but quiet and pleasant. Acaguimarsche 1 times on the fun fair handmade artists selling work by feeling.

  • It is a shrine of the new and modern feel. But there is beautiful there is grandeur but not uninteresting shrine like a conglomeration of concrete occasionally seen in the city. Perhaps, Kengo Kuma's design. Kuma's is by the way here's parishioners!

  • Interesting example of the modernisation of a shinto shrine. Famous architect, café attractive ladies who can do some "charm" shopping as well. You like it or not depending on the point of view, but the architecture is worth a look.
  • A small, but beautiful shrine. The architecture is more modern than most shrine because it's designed by Kengo Kuma, a prominent Japanese architect. The site also includes a café and charm shop, which sells good luck charming that is also cuter than most shrines. To maximize your visit, download DiG Japan, the official app of Japan tourism. On various spots in Akagi Shrine, there are QR codes. Scan these using the DiG Japan app for more info, like a digital tour guide. You can also find here a introductory greeting from the chief priest of Akagi Shrine. 3
  • Small but nice shrine. The area is usually very quiet, and the shrine is extremely clean. Note that it's a recent building made of concrete and glass. From the terrace on the side, you can see the sunset.
  • Modern style shrine. Synchronized with building and cafe.
  • Not so many people as other shrines. Quiet and pretty

Where to stay in Tokyo

Tokyo abounds with excellent places to stay, from luxury affairs to humble budget-friendly lodgings. Its glittering skyscrapers house numerous international four- and five-star hotels, both in the populous cultural hotspots of Shinjuku and in the business centers of Akasaka and Shinbashi. Meanwhile, hostels catering to the shoestring traveler lie scattered throughout the city. For a memorable, distinctly Japanese experience, seek out a ryokan, a traditional bed and breakfast with tatami floor mats and sliding screen doors.
