  • Located 3 minutes from kagurazaka station. Next door has a large mansion, surrounded by nature, will not feel good. Visit the small shrine so soon. Staff managed.

  • I asked after lunch on weekdays. Here is new? It is beautiful. Find something new sometimes visited, every time different and other shrines, fresh feeling. This is a wooden plaque (had up to now? ) And different impressions of what was so interesting. You want to come again.

  • Kagurazaka area, nice walk around. This shrine was rebuilded just a few years ago. Lightly sunny place with old tree and interesting omomori things, omikuji. Take your book (goshuin) with you. Calligraphy is available too. Cafe inside the yard.
  • Keep calm and walk into Akagi shrine is good to visit in Kagurazaka district.
  • Interesting example of the modernisation of a shinto shrine. Famous architect, café attractive ladies who can do some "charm" shopping as well. You like it or not depending on the point of view, but the architecture is worth a look.
  • A small, but beautiful shrine. The architecture is more modern than most shrine because it's designed by Kengo Kuma, a prominent Japanese architect. The site also includes a café and charm shop, which sells good luck charming that is also cuter than most shrines. To maximize your visit, download DiG Japan, the official app of Japan tourism. On various spots in Akagi Shrine, there are QR codes. Scan these using the DiG Japan app for more info, like a digital tour guide. You can also find here a introductory greeting from the chief priest of Akagi Shrine. 3

Where to stay in Tokyo

Tokyo abounds with excellent places to stay, from luxury affairs to humble budget-friendly lodgings. Its glittering skyscrapers house numerous international four- and five-star hotels, both in the populous cultural hotspots of Shinjuku and in the business centers of Akasaka and Shinbashi. Meanwhile, hostels catering to the shoestring traveler lie scattered throughout the city. For a memorable, distinctly Japanese experience, seek out a ryokan, a traditional bed and breakfast with tatami floor mats and sliding screen doors.
