  • Visited the aquarium because there's a special Sakura light-up and projection mapping event by Naked Inc. The admission fee was a little pricey (2,200yen), but it was all worth it when we saw the anim...  more »

  • The good: dolphins, seals, sea turtles, penguins, sharks, jellyfish, wide variety of fish, located in a nice park with a small lake. The bad: small, old, busy, relatively cramped, difficult to access unless you drive, inadequate parking spaces, and in need of a retrofit. Also, the dolphin tank is woefully small and the whole place is really showing its age. Fun for small children, less so for adults. There are so many better aquariums in Japan.
  • There are two aquariums in Shinagawa area. One is near Shinagawa Station called Aqua Park (very new), the this one is near Omorikaigan Station (older). I went on a date to this aquarium and we really enjoyed our time. The aquarium is older and gives you the charm of the 90s somehow, but we liked that. We went there on a Saturday and it was a little bit crowded, but not extremely. You could enjoy all attractions like the dolphin show. We especially liked the tank with the small fish you clean your skin up when you put your hands in it. We decided to go to this aquarium instead of the other really new Aqua Park, because in Tokyo everything is crowded, especially on a weekend and new things are even more crowded. If you don't mind a little retro and if you don't fancy lining up or moving in huge crowds, I recommend you this one.
  • Great place to visit whenever! The staff is very friendly, the shows are worth to stay and watch (the feeding in the tunnel tank is so exciting!!), all animals are great to observe and learn, the establishment is clean and cozy. Would visit again!
  • Great for kids of all ages. Walking there was really nice as well since there were plenty of parks with tons of greenery if you walk in the inside along the river. Even a river walk would be nice here if you were around the area. Restaurant was right on the spot as well with not overly priced food. Around $10-12 a plate range. Aquarium was really nice itself. 5 year old liked it and nice enough for a 1 year old to run around without having to worry much. Penguin, sharks, seals, dolphins and some gigantic turtles so it was interesting for adults too I'd say. They have dolphin shows there at specific times but we didn't get a chance to stay there. I'd say this place is about an hour of good fun and the show area for the dolphin show looked nice. Overall great place. Also very wheelchair friendly here. My brother also bought tickets at 7 Eleven and said they were cheaper.
  • I loved this place as a child and I still love it as an adult! The aquarium isn't too big so it won't be overwhelming or exhausting, yet they have all the wonderful sea creatures and a dolphin show, too. The area outside of the aquarium is also great for picnics or strolls as it is a park. The only downfall is that it's a bit out of the way for some train stations, but that gives it the good open air feel for the area.
