Kanmon Tunnel for Humans, Shimonoseki

(3.6/5 based on 180+ reviews on the web)
Dare to take a walk through Kanmon Tunnel for Humans, located under the Kanmon Straits. Constructed in 1958, the pedestrian tunnel connects the two islands of Kyushu and Honshu. Because it connects two prefectures, a white line divides the walking path in two--each reserved for a specific direction. While you don't have much in the way of sightseeing in this tunnel, the interior still bears its original 1950s design. Use the tunnel as a way of making your trip between the islands shorter, or as a jogging and cycling path. • From Shimonoseki Moji side bad bus service. It is about 800 m one way so just good exercise. Kazutoshi cutting shrine in the Moji side is recommended.

  • Shimonoseki and Moji-Shimonoseki and back. Man is free. It is not tiring walk back and forth and distance. We recommend.

  • Did not feel less away walk is from Shimonoseki to Moji port and crossed. But Moji port traffic is too bad. And not running most buses, taxis are not running at all. Until the port of Moji felt so long. Has more on the secure means of transportation you're going good.
