Over at the statue of the showdown was, or anything not on the island. And not a tourist ferry time and care while trapped several hours on the island so caution is required. While waiting for the return ferry, raccoons! Has been found. He was so cute. On the island was been tamed.

You arrive on the island does not have any. If time is 1 hour 10 minutes. Walking statue duel with Miyamoto Musashi and Sasaki Kojiro if you go to the back of the island, was established. There are toilets and shop.

From Moji port on a ship will arrive in about 10 minutes. Line is pretty shaky at the top and bottom. On the back, there is a statue of Sasaki Kojiro and Miyamoto Musashi duels kanmon Strait landed and walk a little bit. Island was half privately owned land on a small island. And choked with weeds and is very quiet. The scene of the duel was nothing hush, once seemed lushness.

This is the island where Musashi fought his duel with Sasaki Kojiro. If you are interested in Japanese history, it is a good place to go. You can ramble around the island and chill out a little bit.

The island is very smal with no shops or anyone living there for long time. The name of the Island was Funejima after the defeat from Musashi the Island name changed to Ganryujima to Honor Sasaki Kojirō who real name was Ganryū Kojirō . The place Is like a big park empty with symbolic grave for Sasaki Kojiro who was defeated by Miyamoto Musashi. You have to get a ferry and takes 10 minutes arrive. Also you can find Statue from this two great Samurais and one boat at the beach where Musashi arrived and fight with Kojiro. (symbolic not the real one) At the duel Musashi arrived late making Kojiro impatient and upseted. Some legends say Kojiro was not able to see Musashi really well because his position looking at the sea at Sunset. what may be the mistake that took his life.but this are all legends.

It is a historic tourist attraction. I think it doesn't take so much time around the entire island. No shops or vending machines. Ryoma Sakamoto and his wife visited there. Went by boat to the island. There were boats from Shimonoseki.
