#1 of 14 in Things to do in Shimogo-machi
Step back into the Edo period during a venture around Ouchijuku, a historic post station now located within a larger town. Post stations were built to provide travelers transporting goods across the country with somewhere to stay and rest, and the squat wooden buildings have a pleasing aesthetic, nestled together among the mountainous landscape. Take the time to admire the thatched roofs of the well-preserved buildings, and pop in to see what they now contain, with many of the buildings now open to the public in the form of museums, cafes, souvenir shops, and restaurants. • I went with a public vehicle. It is serious because the number is small if the time of the train and the bus is not examined firmly. I was lucky enough to go to the bus from Ouchi-juku to Yunoyama Onsen Station, and to the tower's hetsutsu when I checked it carefully.

  • Ouchi-juku is famous for its houses on both sides. Most of the houses were souvenirs and food and beverage shops. Many tourists were coming. However, it was raining on the day, but it was a fun place. I was able to see the house line when I climbed in the middle of the mountain.

  • The inn town itself is not too big, and if it takes about an hour, it is enough to go around slowly. However, the caterpillar was terrible, and it was serious to enter everywhere in the hood of the hood and the bag. I think that it is better to choose the season if you want to go sightseeing slowly.

  • 歴史的ロマンと四季折々の風情がとても楽しめる場所です。 It was a time slip place in Japan's Edo period over 300 years ago. You can enjoy the different seasons of the seasons. Thatched roof is the most characteristic. Please visit once when you visit Japan.
  • The Oku lodging in February has a lot of snowfall. As the feet slide, the temperature is low because it is in the mountains. However, there are figures that can only be seen during this period, it is worth seeing.
  • Great. I joined the daily tour from the aizu wakamatsu and it was worth it as ouchijuku could be difficult to access. The buildings in the area are really interesting and the view from top was breathtaking. Most of the shops in the area were closed but that doesn't affect our experience much. The bus journey to the area also provided lots of nice scenery.
  • The view of the village covered in snow with the white mountains in the background was simply wonderful.
  • Wow.. Amazing place. Specially the food of this place is very traditional as feels like 19th century. Would like to go again next winter.
