  • This museum can really open one's eyes to the diversity of nihonga, or modern Japanese-style painting. They prepare free English pamphlets for their changing exhibits too. The exhibition space is small and can quickly become crowded on Sundays and holidays, plus it is a tad expensive at 1200 yen. The cafe has matcha green tea and Japanese sweets specially created to match works in the exhibits, so can make for an interesting rest stop.
  • This is the only museum I had time to visit in Tokyo, we arrived just an hour before closing time. But "luckily" the museum is not too big, so you should not plan to spend hours there. That said I always was a great fan of Japanese watercolor paintings, and this little gem made me as happy as expected. The staff is superkind (as in every service in Japan), the museum shop has some interesting stuff.
  • A nice small museum with classic Japanese art.
  • 駐車場はないがパーキングメーターがある。
  • From Ebisu station footbridges and slopes overcoming 10-Choi. Suites Restaurant and Café is intriguing on the way walking is not so good but it's also found. Small in scale, and around 30 minutes from it. But nothing rattles not want less crowded. So, look carefully and try feel the charm of the painting and the technique that I think. To try Cafe with sweets. MU Cafe discount will be in the app that pops.
