Shibuya Hikarie, Shibuya

3.5
#21 of 248 in Shopping in Tokyo
Browse the stores and be entertained during a visit to Shibuya Hikarie, a skyscraper with a multi-floor retail area and cultural attractions. Explore each floor of the shopping area, right from the basement level food court and supermarket, to the beauty, fashion, and lifestyle floors. The glass walls of the building allow for extensive views of the bustling shopping district from each floor. An art gallery on the eighth floor, a theater on the 11th, and cafes and restaurants on the sixth and seventh mean you'll find plenty to entertain and entice, even if you're not interested in shopping. Use our Tokyo travel route planning site to add Shibuya Hikarie and other attractions to your Tokyo vacation plans.

  • Delicious dry fruit & nuts. Located near the entrance of the supermarket. At first I love dried fruit & almonds, easy-to-eat dried fruits & nuts walnuts are now.

  • This is a very nice place to spend time shopping, eating or just taking it easy. From the 11th floor there is a great view of the area with places to sit and relax.  more »

  • This place has everything I want. Shopping heaven! So many nice shops and the food amazing. I wanted to but everything so had to limit my time before I found more things to get.
  • The three of us had about 30 servings (counting also for non-sushi dishes, although the large majority were sushi), and we just spent around ¥ 75,000 (no drinks ordered, though). Hard to beat. The Japanese omelette is especially yummy, usually prepared on order. The unagi and the salmon roe to die for. One of our favorite destinations in Shibuya.
  • Love this place. The museum floor is the place to go. Art galleries and great food, plus a shop full of interesting wares. Design is the word to use.
  • It has everything you could want, quite literally. The best thing about it, is that it has the trains accessible from the same mall which is a big plus!
  • Heart of Shibuya. New department store with great restaurants on the top floors. Pricy but the food is great.

Where to stay in Tokyo

Tokyo abounds with excellent places to stay, from luxury affairs to humble budget-friendly lodgings. Its glittering skyscrapers house numerous international four- and five-star hotels, both in the populous cultural hotspots of Shinjuku and in the business centers of Akasaka and Shinbashi. Meanwhile, hostels catering to the shoestring traveler lie scattered throughout the city. For a memorable, distinctly Japanese experience, seek out a ryokan, a traditional bed and breakfast with tatami floor mats and sliding screen doors.
