Specialty Museum Museum
Savor the flavors and discover the history of one of the country's longest established breweries at Museum of Yebisu Beer. The history of the beer dates back to 1887, when agricultural workers began making beer on local farmland according to German brewing methods, and three years later the company formed. The museum opened in 2010 to celebrate 120 years since the brewery's founding, offering 40-minute tours conducted by experts, where you'll find out all about the history of the company, the methods used, and their range of beers. A tasting session at the end of the tour allows you to try out all you've learnt about beer tasting and notice the subtleties of each beer. • This museum is free if self tour, or you can join a group that includes tasting. A very well done presentation of the rich history of this beer company.  more »
  • Hi we went with the intention of going on the tour, seeing the tour included samples at the end. We had the same issue another reviewer had in, the fact if you do not speak Japanese, you can not go on...  more »

  • Cute museum! The tour is only in Japanese but at 500 yen for 2 beers we decided to go for it. Well worth it! The tour guide was lovely and kind and even answered some of my questions in English. We had an English brochure guide and the beer at the end was delicious and smooth.
  • The museum part of this museum is pretty sparse. Another review said something like "it's a chill place to try some good beers". While this is very accurate, there are more chill places to drink better beer. But alas, the museum is free, it's raining, I've trekked out here, and they do have beer.
  • 東京でワンコインで遊べる最高のライブ I was told that there is a mist shower between the foam and the beer. Can you understand? Continually refill foam, prevent beer from coming into contact with air, keep fresh and delicious.
  • The museum was housed right inside a massive mall, the architecture style reminds me of old western. The museum itself has a small gallery filled with pictures of Yebisu history. There's a tour available, with sampling at the end of it, but it's only available in Japanese. You can sample the beers by purchasing the sampling set.
  • Small place offering the history of Yebisu beer. If you want to drink however, you'll need to bring cash to convert to Yebisu coins in order to buy beer. No ATM's nearby that take international cards.
