Ebisu Garden Place, Shibuya

#10 of 245 in Shopping in Tokyo
A major district of Shibuya-ku, Ebisu Garden Place creates a city-within-a-city atmosphere, renowned for its wide selection of bars and restaurants. Occupying the site of a former brewery, nowadays a museum serves up samples of beer, as well as food in its restaurant. Walk under the central square arch or relax in the plaza next to a traditional English garden. The neighborhood's photo museum boasts a permanent collection of 24,000 pictures, often organizing themed exhibits. In the summer months expect to see outdoor film and music events. • While many North American-style shopping complex, such as AEON Mall here you will feel European. From Ebisu station-easy-to-understand way is also good.

  • I went here with my fiancee during Christmas. It was beautiful and such romantic place to be with your loved ones. Recommended for couples. I'm not sure how this place would like during normal days because it was fully Illuminated during Christmas. They have restaurant at front which serves good beer from tap. You could also walk further in and explore to find rows of pubs and cafes in a much more quieter area away from the crowd. Overall, we enjoyed our evening there.
  • Pretty standard office building. Upper floors have pretty nice views of the city as there are not many tall other buildings in Ebisu. Public bathrooms available in the lobby, and there are some restaurants and a convenience store. Excelsior cafe and a Starbucks are also on site.
  • Fancy as all get out with some interesting, weird architecture. Didn't sample too many of the available services but enjoyed the atmosphere well enough. I have to say that the presence of a Burger King is highly incongruous, from my POV, with what they're otherwise trying to accomplish.
  • I went there after new year. There are some lights on the tree very beautiful. I dont know if they put the lights all the time. But the garden very beautiful at night time.
  • One of the landmarks of Tokyo. Good place to visit for seeing the renaissance style castle of the French chef Joel Robuchon, which contains 2 very high class restaurants. Also a good place to learn more about the yebisu and Sapporo beer and home of the museum of photography of Tokyo. If visiting in December/early January, do not miss the illuminations, one of the best setting in town.

Its glittering skyscrapers house numerous international four- and five-star hotels, both in the populous cultural hotspots of Shinjuku and in the business centers of Akasaka and Shinbashi.
