Where to stay in Sendai

In the city center of Sendai, you'll find a good range of budget and luxury accommodations to suit a range of tastes. From standard high-rise hotels to traditional "ryokan" (guesthouses), they sit pretty close to the main train station, forming clusters around the main public parks, commercial developments, and temples. The surrounding landscape features a number of "onsen" (traditional Japanese spas) located in clusters around hot springs. Take a look close at Mount Okura and Kamakurayama for some of the most concentrated patches of spa retreats.

  • Loads of shops, cheap and expensive. You have your Louis Vuitton, Chanel etc as well as 100Y shops. Restaurants as well.  more »
  • This was a huge mall area that went north and south, east and west. It was huge with many shops and many places to eat. You could find almost anything you needed there.  more »
