  • It is a beautiful precious gardens in Sendai Temple. Temple also steeped in history but made the atmosphere. Fewer tourists, the kitayama neighborhood, slowly settled down, tours are available. Digress a little from the center of Sendai, two or more times and recommended for people visiting Sendai. Other ladders Aoba shrine, Temple and Osaki hachimangu shrine might be good.

  • This place is very close to where I live at the moment. I enjoy going here in my free time. The best part of the temple is the Japanese garden at the back yard. You have to pay 300 yen to enter but it's kinda worth it. Either summer, spring or winter gives you different view. The best for me perhaps is autumn. The colors are just gorgeous. Also to be noted you can experience meditation here on the weekend. Ask the temple office for more information.
  • Nice and calm little temple. The garden seems small but there is a lot to see.
  • Nice place. The temple and its garden have a new dress at each season. Spiritual moment with the nature and the old temple.
  • It was absolutely stunning, the garden were beautiful and it's a really peaceful stop away from crowds.

Where to stay in Sendai

In the city center of Sendai, you'll find a good range of budget and luxury accommodations to suit a range of tastes. From standard high-rise hotels to traditional "ryokan" (guesthouses), they sit pretty close to the main train station, forming clusters around the main public parks, commercial developments, and temples. The surrounding landscape features a number of "onsen" (traditional Japanese spas) located in clusters around hot springs. Take a look close at Mount Okura and Kamakurayama for some of the most concentrated patches of spa retreats.
