  • Free guide just came closer and me, was discussed at length, and lots of good memories. The shrine name plastered Momoyama culture gorgeous color, great. Is the tie between the stone-built holding the Kitano Tenman-gu shrine, Nikko Toshogu Shrine in the building, said one of the oldest.

  • A very famous shrine in Sendai. At daytime, sometimes you could get free guide about the shrine. At nighttime, it's just silent since almost nobody goes at night. Perfect for some photo opportunity.
  • Osaki Hachimangu is a beautiful temple. If you are in Sendai around 14th of january I definitly recommend you to check for the Dontosai, which is a local festival, held every year in this temple.
  • A beautiful Shinto Shrine with long history and attractive pattern. Some festival is held every year in this shrine. However, the English information on the site of the shrine is not much.
  • A small and local shrine. Came here on the first day of 2017. Lots of people and was bustling with noise. Many vendors around. But tried some, but was not tasty.
  • So beautiful temple with long history in Japan, must visit!

Where to stay in Sendai

In the city center of Sendai, you'll find a good range of budget and luxury accommodations to suit a range of tastes. From standard high-rise hotels to traditional "ryokan" (guesthouses), they sit pretty close to the main train station, forming clusters around the main public parks, commercial developments, and temples. The surrounding landscape features a number of "onsen" (traditional Japanese spas) located in clusters around hot springs. Take a look close at Mount Okura and Kamakurayama for some of the most concentrated patches of spa retreats.
