  • The statue is impressive, but the view is bad since you can only look through tiny windows. On the inside there are many beautiful statues of Buddha and warriors  more »
  • When was honestly surprised!! ️ far away from even the Kannon is now a landmark in Sendai. You can enter from the feet, going up in the stairs in the goddess of mercy. Is about 30 minutes by car from Sendai station, but there is undoubtedly the highest in the Sendai city!

  • It is 100 m to my local goddess. Also, see this goddess from Sendai city, and located on the heights of a Sendai city Sendai city views from the top of the goddess of mercy. Personally, and what many of the local people "somehow-" and thinks it is, but ruins like friends (like going to visit Auschwitz, Abashiri prison,......) Sendai came to rejoice if I took you. "Red-" and the uke has has been. Fuselage is rising, especially in the winter season from sakuragaoka slope in the direction of central mountain goddess of mercy in the car up, and on the other side of the Hill head is rising gradually proceed further and a very surreal sight. So it doesn't look that way to season the lush tree-lined Avenue on the slope is best enjoyed only in winter. Big Kannon in the residential area, I like GANTZ, has a very impressive in that sense. The moment in the hospital, by the way, one in the hospital ward of a hospital from the upper floors is this goddess look like every morning to pray! Also tore down and want they go while removal do, in or not.

  • A huge white statue that also serve as a temple. Inside, there are 108 different statues depicting human earthly desires, and a jewel. The view of Sendai city can be seen from the top. However, the English information is not much enough, giving difficulties to understand what's inside.
  • Pretty great to see and one of the tallest statues in the world. You can go inside and almost to the top. Has 108 different Buddhas inside.
  • Very good place..
  • Good place to visit ..!
  • 6th tallest statue in the world. Hard to get to from Sendai but worth the view.

Where to stay in Sendai

In the city center of Sendai, you'll find a good range of budget and luxury accommodations to suit a range of tastes. From standard high-rise hotels to traditional "ryokan" (guesthouses), they sit pretty close to the main train station, forming clusters around the main public parks, commercial developments, and temples. The surrounding landscape features a number of "onsen" (traditional Japanese spas) located in clusters around hot springs. Take a look close at Mount Okura and Kamakurayama for some of the most concentrated patches of spa retreats.
