Lake Saroma also Saroma Lagoon is a body of brackish water in Saroma, Kitami, and Yūbetsu Hokkaidō, Japan. It is located in Abashiri Quasi-National Park. By area, the lake is the third largest in Japan and the largest in Hokkaidō.The name comes from the Ainu place name saruomahetsu, meaning place of many Miscanthus reeds and rushes.

  • You can feel the nature just to move in many lakes, Lake Saroma-Ko, car recommended come and visit the Saroma Lake Observatory. Words must climb a mountain dirt road for about 5 km off the national highway, but looked down at Saroma-Ko, and of scenery from the observation deck at that time. When once I went up to the Observatory was zero vision in rain and mist. Gave up and down to the Lake of nostalgia came out and around the hostel, such as shower and look up at the lookout peak is visible or not! We hurried back down the mountain, look up to the Observatory and haze on the South side of sunny on the other side of Lake Saroma in the emerald green of the sea of Okhotsk and the right peaks of Shiretoko beautiful watch.

  • Pictures of my husband and Saroma Lake came to take. Heard the third large after Lake Biwa, Kasumigaura in Japan in Hokkaido is the biggest lake is indeed a vast lake. You can feel the grandeur of the Hokkaido! I would want to come and visited during the day, but the next time taking pictures of the sunset.
