  • We visited after having our lunch at Nijo market which is close by. I suggest you consider visiting the park as part of a half day trip, which may include Nijo market and Tanukikoji. All these attract...  more »

  • Seems to be able to see the illuminations in Odori Park every year, and I went on Saturday night. The wind was strong, but lots of people was coming. And food shops, it was crowded!

  • The 2016 Autumn Fest in Odori park has a few hundred food and drink options. As one might expect from a festival like this, the quality is hit and miss, e.g. I bought a yakiniku sandwich, which was delicious, but from the same stall was given cold fries. Shrimp ramen stall wasn't bad at all, but compared to Tokyo ramen shops which have to operate in a highly competitive environment, it was a somewhat mediocre. Currywurst from the Oktoberfest at the Television Tower end of the festival looked like a sloppy mess even by currywurst standards, but tasted ok. A large selection of beers available here too . All said and done, the large variety of small dishes on offer means you can try many different things and you're sure to find a few gems. Add to that the good fortune of positively balmy weather and an ojiisan who drives around in a go kart pretending to be Mario, and you've got a decidedly fun day out. Closes a bit early, at 8pm, which would be dinner time for many, but guess that's just how it is.
  • We went to Sapporo during Autumn and we roamed around the Odori Park in one afternoon. There were lot of people doing all kinds of stuff they like. It was refreshing to see people enjoying what they do. There people doing some tricks, one guy was dressed like Spiderman and climbing all the places. This is the place where they hold beer festival.
  • Great park smack in the middle of Sapporo. Almost always something fun going on! Lots of traffic noise though...
  • Fantastic park that is central to a lot of meet-ups and events in Sapporo. Just recently the "Yosakoi" festival. In the Summer this park is full of people drinking at the many beer gardens. Autumn there is the "Autumn Fest and in Winter there is the Snow festival. Really a place to enjoy the seasons of Sapporo.
  • "Nice gardens, cool sculptures, fountains, etc." - what you'd say about most (kempt) parks. What makes Odori-park particularly cool is that Sapporo goes kinda crazy during the summer (not unlike Chicago!) - with festivals, exhibits, food tents etc, all centered on Odori-park. Its awesome to hang out in...
