  • Visited during the 2017 Yuki Matsuri. Only had a full day to spend in Sapporo and utilized every minute to the fullest! Walked miles of snow-covered streets to see countless sculptures creatively cut ...  more »

  • Long park running east-west through central Sapporo. TV tower at one end is lit up brightly in the evening. There's always people in the park and it's the home of many festivals. If you want greenery and plants then another park might be a better choice, but Odori is definitely one of the hubs of Sapporo. Beer festival in summer, snow festival in winter etc.
  • Fantastic gardens park with lots of high-rise building and fountains. Very beautiful and relaxing spot in the downtown of the city. Have a walk thru or take a chair and enjoy the atmosphere or take a book with you for a longer break.
  • Beautiful and we'll landscaped along with being very clean! There are small vendors around, not too many to buy snacks while enjoying your view and walk. It's a very big park, I think 12 small blocks, each of which is modeled different.
  • Nice walk, good for taking photos with Sapporo TV Tower in the background. There was a food festival when we went there, and many events happen here throughout the year. Gets a little crowded though with many tourists around.
  • A beautiful, seasonally festive place. Summer is the best place to visit and relax there. Winter festival is one of the main events in Odori park in February.

Where to stay in Sapporo

You'll be able to choose from a variety of accommodation options for your stay in Sapporo, including opulent and upscale hotels. Mid-range and high-end establishments line the streets of the city center, while options for the budget-conscious traveler are hostels, guesthouses, and campsites, open from May to November. Lodgings fill up quickly during winter and summer holidays, and especially for the annual Snow Festival in February, so it's advisable to book in advance if you plan to visit at that time.
